I've been thinking for a while
How good it would be
To have poetry nights
Right here, in Buckfastleigh
Then walking passed the MIC
You can imagine my delight
To see the flyer
For this here, very night!
I'm glad to be here
To listen to your rhymes
To share and connect
In these disheartening times
So tonight let's enjoy
the stanzas and metre
Drift away
To rhythmic beat-
-Or sit on the edge of your seat
Feel, hear and see
All the thoughts and feelings
Of this here, fine company
