Celebrating Community

Celebrating Community

As a blow-in it can feel hard to fit
In an ancient wool town, so closely knit
Though the ley-lines pull us in
And keep us from leaving

Financial crises and pandemics hit
Low morale pushed us down
But we are so strong together
As is our love for this special town

Jointly we support the need
Of old, the young and give a feed
To those not having enough
The food crisis has been rough

But we're coming through it all
As you can plainly see
Life and joy has returned
Together in sweet harmony

We got this hub we dearly needed
And a place for woolen crafts
Song and dance returned also
Bees buzz happy on wild plants

And coming out of the shadows
There's so much talent here
It makes me truly thankful
To see it, and hear

So let the MIC be our vehicle
Or engine if you will
That pull the coaches of community
Up and down our hills

A single star lost on its own
Struggles to shine brightly
But people holding hand in hand
Light up the sky mighty!

So enjoy yourselves tonight
And please do spend a little coin
For this noble raising of the funds
To help the MIC ride on!
